The Sharing Tree of Hudson, a program that provides school supplies to Hudson School District students in need, is accepting new school supply donations Aug. 1-15 at four Hudson locations:
--Denny’s restaurant, 1000 Gateway Blvd.;
--WESTconsin Credit Union, 1601 Maxwell Drive;
--Starbucks, 1001 Pearson Drive; and
--County Market, 2310 Crest View Drive.
To make a monetary donation to help defray the cost of outfitting the registered students, either visit The Sharing Tree page at the St. Croix Valley Foundation site (www.scvcf.org) and donate online, or mail a check to the St. Croix Valley Foundation, 516 Second St., Suite 214, Hudson WI 54016 -- indicating The Sharing Tree on the memo line. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Another way to help is to sponsor a student and purchase the supplies for that student. Students are identified by age, grade and gender, and all of their school supply needs are listed on a Sharing Tree shopping tag. If interested, contact Cindy at (715) 549-6431 by Aug. 10.
Families interested in registering their student(s) can pick up applications at the Christian Cupboard food shelf at St. Pat's Church in Hudson or at the Department of Families and Children in New Richmond. Registrations must be returned no later than Aug. 7 to The Sharing Tree, PO Box 1082, Hudson WI 54016.
For more information, call Cindy at (715) 549-6431.
