Harvest bike ride set

The recreational Harvest bike ride is scheduled in Hudson Sunday, Aug. 30, with 25-, 65- and 100-mile routes throughout St. Croix County for all level of cyclists. The ride begins at the Hudson Town Hall, 980 County A, between 7 to 9 a.m. Rest stops include sag support, maps, pie and ice cream at ride’s end. Cost is $40. Lawn mower racers win

Hudson lawn mower racer Robert Sparbel and his R&T Racing Team chalked up multiple victories in a series of races at the beginning of the month. Sparbel captured first place in two different classes at the Washington, Minn., County Fair July 31, two firsts at an event in Rochester, Minn., Aug. 1 and two at the Polk County Fair Aug. 2. James Sparbel captured first place in the junior division at the Washington County and Polk County events.

Tourney benefits baseball

The second annual Hudson Baseball Fall Classic Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Hudson Golf Club. The format will be a four-person scramble with registration beginning at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Included in the $90 fee are 18 holes of golf with cart, a bucket of practice balls, dinner, door prizes and the opportunity to win prizes in the longest drive, longest putt and closest-to-the-pin contests. All proceeds from the event will be used to upgrade the baseball fields at Grandview Park.
