Has insight on health reform

Dear Editor,

People across the nation are upset about the Healthcare ‘reform’ that the congress and Obama are trying to rush through. I’m one of them. Why am I upset? I took the time to read the bill (unlike our representatives) and I don’t like being lied to. I have written Rep. Ron Kind with questions several times and all I get back from him is the exact same talking points and a ‘thanks for my input.’ What input? I asked him for input.

Obama, and key lawmakers have repeatedly said they want a single payer system. Now, they are telling us we can keep what we like and this bill actually gives us more choices. Riiiight. They have put sneaky landmines in the bill that will eventually kill any choices other than a single payer system. They know it and are patting themselves on the back for their cleverness. The only thing they did not anticipate was people actually reading the bill and loudly voicing their concerns at town hall meetings. So, what do our representatives do? They start a campaign to dismiss us. They say we are too well dressed to be genuine people. (Yes, I did see a lot of well dressed grey haired folks.) They say we are bused in to town hall meetings by the insurance companies. They think that “The masses” cannot possibly question their wisdom so they state that it is a manufactured uprising instigated by the Republicans and conservative talk radio. Even scarier, the Whitehouse is now collecting information on us and says it will ‘hit us back twice as hard’. They have already called out their union thugs to some Town Hall Meetings. Do they think that their Acorn minions will convince us that they are not lying? What is going on here? Are we now in Venezuela?
