Dear Editor,

During August each of us should take some time to read what Ron Kind and other Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives propose to inflict upon us under the guise of healthcare. While few of us will disagree with the need for healthcare system improvement, the Democrats’ secretive proposals go well beyond that reasonable scope.

Consider the following tidbits a fellow named Fred pointed out to me.

Then ask yourself why President Obama and his minions tried, although unsuccessfully, to push this through before the August recess.

Are we ready to give The Government this much control? Here are some provisions of the proposed health care bill. Our Congressman Ron Kind is not likely to tell you about these policies. I teach my children not telling the whole story is wrong; we call it lying by omission.

You can read these yourself at this website:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/17352956/House-Health-Reform-Bill

All American citizens will be ordered to have National ID Card (page 58)

The government to have immediate access to every American citizen’s bank accounts via electronic funds transfers (page 59)

All property owned by doctors in the United States to be determined by the government (page 317)

All American citizens ordered to give United States government power over their living wills (page 425)

The United States government given a new power to determine who and how their citizens die (page 427)

End of life plan for each American citizen ordered by government (page 429)

Perhaps you cannot believe The Government would take away your liberty by appealing to the need to protect children, poor, and the sick. Yet here is Wisconsin, we already provide BadgerCare for our own without these draconian methods. The Congressional Budget Office, Congress’ own financial researchers, warned Congress that government healthcare or socialized medicine will actually hurt the economy while restricting access to medical care.

Write your Congressmen’s and Senator’s home offices here in Wisconsin and tell them you do not support their healthcare agenda and consequential loss of Liberty. Ask them why they have no Town Hall meetings scheduled during the August recess when they should be out listening to the citizenry. I think many of us are learning that remaining silent is not a tactic that preserves your rights and freedom. As you ponder how they will pay for all this, consider the words of the great Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”
