A longtime Hudsonite, O’Brien was the son of Judge Thomas J. and Elizabeth (Dodge) O’Brien and a 1974 graduate of Hudson High School. He and his wife, Mary (Stepan), have three children, Martha, Michael Jr. and Maggie.
Mike worked as an insert specialist/plant ambassador at St. Croix Press Inc. in New Richmond for many years.
He has six brothers, Thomas Jr., Patrick (Theresa), Tim (Ellen), Dan (Kathy), Chris (Paula) and Sean (Cathy), and a sister, Ann. The brothers have sung together for several years, appearing throughout the area, including at this year’s Relay For Life.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 20) at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with The O’Brien’s providing music Mike chose.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 19 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Connell Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
