Fiddler’ auditions set

Auditions for "Fiddler on the Roof," with music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, are Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 24-26, at The Phipps Center for the Arts.

Auditions for children ages 7–13 are from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; adults at 7:30. Callbacks are Thursday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m.

Director Mark A. Paulson is looking for a large cast of all ages. All roles will sing and dance to some degree. Those auditioning should prepare 16 measures of a Broadway musical song and come prepared to dance. An accompanist will be provided. Actors should also bring a head shot, if available. Actors will be seen in the order in which they register.

Rehearsals begin the week of Sept. 13. Twelve performances will be given Nov. 6–29 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Yoga classes continue

Hatha yoga classes continue this fall at The Phipps Center for the Arts with instructor Renee Lindquist.

Beginning yoga is offered Tuesdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 15. Vinyasa Flow yoga classes are Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. beginning Sept. 10. Gentle Level 1 classes are Fridays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. beginning Sept. 11.

Two classes on preserving tomatoes will be offered Saturday, Aug. 29, at The Phipps Center for the Arts. These classes are part of an ongoing series, The Art of Thoughtful Living, co-sponsored by River Market and The Phipps.

“Canning Tomatoes” is from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

“Canning Salsa” is from noon to 1:30 p.m.
