MADISON – Phillips Medical, New Richmond, is among 14 winners of a 2011 Wisconsin Corporate Safety award announced Wednesday by the Wisconsin Safety Council and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

LLC, Milwaukee; Colony Brands, Inc., Monroe; Dillman Equipment, a division of Astec, Inc., Prairie du Chien; GE Healthcare, Madison; Georgia Pacific Green Bay Broadway, Green Bay; J.F. Ahern Co., Fond du Lac; • MAG – IAS, LLC, Fond du Lac; Phillips Plastics Corporation - Operations Center, Eau Claire; RGL Specialty Services, LLC, Green Bay; Scheck Mechanical Wisconsin Corporation, Kaukauna; Tweet/Garot Mechanical, Inc., Green Bay; Viking Gas Transmission, Chippewa Falls; and We Energies, Milwaukee.
Of the 166 companies who submitted applications, 85 made it to the final round and submitted the required subjective information to be considered for the final phase of the award.
Each of the finalists provided details on their organization’s safety and health leadership, training and implementation programs, and employee participation. Their reports also include information on their safety accomplishments and goals.
The 85 applications were judged by an independent panel of 39 safety, health, and human resource professionals.
The 14 awards will be presented at the Corporate Safety Awards Dinner held in conjunction with the 70th Annual Wisconsin Safety and Health Conference, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells.
For the first time, special awards will also be presented to companies that indicated a long history of zero lost time incidents. These special awards will be announced the night of the awards ceremony in April.
