Gov. Jim Doyle is on a 10-day trade mission to Japan and China.
Today, he’ll visit a hospital in Tokyo that’s starting to use a new, advanced radiation therapy system sold by the Madison firm of TomoTherapy.
Company executives will also be on hand at Tokyo’s Edogawa Hospital to mark the launch of TomoTherapy’s Hi-Art system.
It’s supposed to create a more accurate delivery of radio-therapy, with fewer side effects.
Doyle’s office says Japan is the world’s largest radiation therapy market in the world and it’s also the most underserved. The governor’s trade mission began Sunday.
