The Raider girls’ tennis team rolled over Rice Lake in its only match of the week last Tuesday, wining all seven matchups in straight sets to post a 7-0 victory.
“This is a match where we were looking for a shutout and the girls went out and got it,” Hudson head coach Dave Dahl said. “Rice Lake showed some life early in many of the matches, but we settled in and took care of things.”
Julia Johnson improved to 20-2 on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles while Nicole Buechler’s 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles upped her record to 16-4. Morgan Karras won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles spot and Morgan Van Allen won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 four her 16th win of the year.
In doubles play, Hanna Naegeli and Casey Fall won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, Whitney Theisen and Lauren Duffy cruised 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2, and Kelsey Scharfenberg and Rachael Knoke won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3.
The Raiders, 3-1 in Big Rivers Conference play and 16-5 overall, will host Chippewa Falls Thursday, Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. at the high school courts.
