Much of Wisconsin has gotten its first rain showers since late August, as low pressure blew in from the south.

The National Weather Service said up to an inch of much-needed rain fell since last night in parts of the state while other areas stayed bone dry.

Once the rain ended, it allowed heavier fog to come in during the night.

A few places in southern Wisconsin had less than a quarter-mile of visibility overnight.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. in the southwest.

Scattered showers were leaving northeast Wisconsin this morning and then it’s supposed to be dry at least until new showers and thunderstorms roll into western areas tonight and tomorrow.

There’s a slight chance of rain for the middle of the week.

But forecasters say our next chance of significant rain is Friday night, lasting into the weekend.

Mild temperatures are predicted all week.
