Traveling soccer signup

Hudson Soccer Association’s Summer 2010 traveling registration is now open and will close on Oct. 9. The traveling program is open to U9 through U18 players. For U11 and up, tryouts are Nov. 8 if needed for age and gender group. Players must be registered on time to participate in the tryouts. Hockey for the new player

Hudson Hockey Association announces a skating session for the “never skated before” player. Four sessions are scheduled Sundays, Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25 beginning at 1:30 p.m. and ending at 2:15 p.m. The sessions are at the Hudson Hockey Arena, 1820 Hanley Rd. The fee is $20. Hot Air 5K run Sunday

The Hot Air Affair’s first ever Up, Up & Away 5K run is Sunday beginning in Lakefront Park. The event is also a showcase for the Hot Air Affair’s new corporate sponsor WESTconsin Credit Union. Registration is from 1 to 1:45 p.m. just south of the Arch and Dike Road. The 5K begins at 2 p.m., a one-mile run begins at 2:45 pm and the toddler trot at 3 p.m. Entry fee is $12 for the 5K and one-mile run if received by Sept. 23. The fee is $15 the day of the race. The toddler trot is free. Medals and other prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories. Race directors Katie and Daryl Jones are long-time HAA committee members.
