Movie will premier in Hudson
A new psycho-thriller movie titled “Clear Lake, WI” will premier in Hudson, Friday, Oct. 9 at the Hudson 12 Theatre, 520 Stageline Road.
A new psycho-thriller movie titled “Clear Lake, WI” will premier in Hudson, Friday, Oct. 9 at the Hudson 12 Theatre, 520 Stageline Road.
Clear Lake native and Hollywood actor Dustin Booth produced the film which features Booth and actors Michael Madsen, Paul Ben-Victor and Audrey Wasilewski. It was filmed by Meriwether Productions.
The story line begins in 1993 when residents of the small town of Clear Lake fell victim to a strange and horrible disease. A local preacher became involved calling the outbreak punishment for the sins of the people. A group of teens at the time assisted in kidnapping 13 people. The preacher was later arrested and charged with the murders of the 13 and the teens testified against the preacher.
The movie takes place 15 years later when the teens return to the town and strange things begin the happen.
Shot on location in Clear Lake, mostly in 2008, the film has won several awards, including the Audience Choice Award at the Boston Film Festival; six awards at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival and a special mention at the Gasparilla International Film Festival.
The Star-Observer ran a brief story on Jan. 3, 2008, noting that two Hudson young men were working on the production of the movie. Chaddix Malchow and Cody Chandler were interns on the set.
The premiere of its week-long theatrical run in Hudson is Friday at 7:30 p.m. and for seven consecutive days through Thursday, Oct. 15. Showtimes are Friday, Oct. 9, 7:30-9:45 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 12:50, 3, 5:10, 7:30 and 9:45 p.m.; and Monday-Thursday, 5:10, 7:30 and 9:45 p.m.
