Dear Editor,
What an awesome and inspiring story your newspaper told us a week or so ago when the journey of the Druffner family unfolded in both words and pictures! How grateful the people of Tanzania must have felt, due to their compassionate visit, and how proud and equally grateful the people of Hudson can be that there are unselfish, Godly people like this family that are willing to put aside their own personal comforts and serve others. Talk about “getting out of your comfort zone!”
Having gone on many short-term mission trips myself, I know only too well how people in Third World countries react to the love, generosity and compassion for Americans when they selflessly serve the poor! (However, I’ve never taken my children or grandchildren — that takes a giant “leap of faith” in itself)! I just want to add my name to those who have thanked the Druffners for this example of what Christ has called all people who bear his name to do!
(“We are to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only”) James 1:23 NIV, paraphrase. Just think of what kind of world we would live in if we all took those words to heart.
