Richards joins Regions emergency staff

Regions Hospital announced recently that Dr. Martin Richards of Hudson has been named associate department head of community emergency medicine.

Regions Hospital announced recently that Dr. Martin Richards of Hudson has been named associate department head of community emergency medicine.

Richards graduated as a chief resident of Regions Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency in 2006. Prior to medical school he served as a critical care nurse, and focused his interests in emergency medicine.

His honors and awards include the 2006 Bob Knopp Humanism Award and the 2006 Star Award given to the best resident teacher in emergency medicine. His contributions include the development of community emergency services in Baldwin and Hastings, Minn.

As associate department head of community emergency medicine, Dr. Richards will be responsible for emergency services in western Wisconsin, including Hudson. He will also serve as medical director of emergency medical services in St. Croix Falls.

“Dr. Richards’ appointment underscores HealthPartners and Regions Hospital’s commitment to serve patients in western Wisconsin,” said Dr. Kurt Isenberger, interim head of Regions Hospital emergency department.

HealthPartners family of care includes Hudson Hospital and Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.
