Support the United Way

Dear Editor,
Live United. You may have heard it on radio and television recently but what does it mean to Live United?
For me, Live United means being involved in my community and helping to improve the lives of people in need. It means ensuring that individuals and families have the basic necessities of food and shelter and the support they need during difficult times. It means helping infants, children, young adults, adults and families develop the life skills required to become healthy, successful individuals. It means helping our seniors and people with special needs or disabilities achieve and maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle.
I have been a volunteer with United Way St. Croix Valley for over a year. During that time, I have become more familiar with United Way’s 60+ partner agencies. Their success depends on strong financial support from local businesses and individuals. A single gift to United Way allows you to provide that support. The demand for services and assistance has grown dramatically at a time when it is more difficult to raise money for these worthy causes.
The economic conditions last year meant that we missed our goal and had to cut funding to our partners. From all indications, this year will be more difficult than the last one.
As this year’s campaign chair, I would like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to those businesses and individuals who form our foundation of loyal donors. To all others, I would like to say, “We need your help.” United, we can make a difference!
Please mail your donation to United Way St. Croix Valley, 516 Second Street #214B, Hudson, Wisconsin 54016 or contribute online at www.unitedwaystcroix.org
I Live United and it feels great!
Be a part of it! You’ll feel great, too!
