The Badlands Sno-park was busy last weekend as people prepared for Halloween by buying pumpkins and participating in the “Spooky Trail.”
This weekend, the Spooky Trail is available Friday, 7-10 p.m. and pumpkin picking is available Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday event
The Great Pumpkin Roll Off is scheduled Sunday at Badlands Sno-park beginning at noon.
It provides a perfect way to dispose of Halloween jack-o-lanterns.
Participants are asked to bring pumpkins out to roll off the top of park’s tallest slope. A bumpy, thumpy smashing roll down the hill is a great wind up for the season. Participants may bring their own pumpkin or buy a pumpkin for $1 or a personal or paper product donation, all the proceeds go to Grace Place in Somerset.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest intact roll and the most dramatic smash up. Badlands Sno-park is located at 772 Kinney Rd. (www.badlands-snopark.com).
