Harlen’s Haven Consignment shop might be a bit hard to find but it is worth the search. It is located on the lower level at 1810 Crestview Drive, Suite 6B. This is the blue roofed building next to the Southside Center where the theater used to be located.
Owner Cindy Sieradski set out to create a hybrid of sorts, taking consignment clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Then she added an assortment of new lines to provide a unique shopping experience.
“We have Melissa and Doug products, Knuckleheads clothing, Baby Lulu clothing, Bobux shoes, Wee Squeak shoes and I See Me (personalized) books,” said Sieradski. “I will be adding more lines, many of which were featured at Moppet’s on Main.”
Unlike other consignment shops, Sieradski will pay her customers on a weekly basis. The Canadian born and raised Sieradski, is the mother of four so she knows the need for a good value. If customers use the money in their account in the store Sieradski offers them a 20 percent discount.
“I want to make it an all in one place to shop,” said Sieradski, who was a law clerk and has most recently worked in the consignment business. “I wanted to give it my personal touch.”
The inventory will change with the seasons, but Sieradski plans to store items, rather than force the contributors to take their consignment items back. An assortment of summer clothing, such swimsuits will be available year round to accommodate both winter vacations to warmer climates and indoor swimming available locally.
She also accepts books, DVDs, music CDs and toys. All items must be in good condition.
Long-term plans are to expand so she can accept children’s furniture such as loft beds. Sieradski and her husband moved to Hudson two years ago from New York state. Future plans also include bringing back the Fairy Tea Parties and Pirate Parties Moppets on Main was known for.
