The Hudson leg of an education exchange program between school administrators began this week with arrival of Guang-sheng Xiao, a vice-principal at the Harbin No. 6 Senior High School in China’s Heilongjian Province.
Along with a delegation of principals, Xiao has spent time in Washington D.C., New York City and Madison where they learned about how schools and education work in the U.S.
In the spring, it will be Superintendent Mary Bowen-Eggebraaten’s turn to visit China and Xiao’s school to exchange information. The superintendent says she hopes to bring back information that will facilitate meaningful contact between Hudson students and their Chinese counterparts.
Xiao was a guest of Bowen-Eggebraaten and her husband at their home. The couple also treated him to a Timberwolves game which he enjoyed as his son is a basketball player as well. He also attended a Raiders basketball game after addressing the Hudson Board of Education Tuesday night.
