Y has youth night

Youth Night will be held at the YMCA on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. Youth in grades 3-5 are welcome to come to the Y and participate in team building games, sports activities, line dancing, crafts and bounce house time.

Registration fee is $8. The event is limited to 75 kids.

Scouts collect cans

Boy Scout Troop 1613 is holding an aluminum can drive on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Faith Community Church parking lot, 777 Carmichael Road. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of a water purifying system in Zambia. About $1,300 has been raised toward a goal of $3,500.

Individuals in the troop are taking a class called “Do Hard Things” which challenges teens to take on projects that have a positive effect on a community. The class is part of Hudson Area Teaching Christian Homeschool (HATCH).

Buy cookies to support animals

St. Croix Animal Friends is having a holiday bake sale at Mr. Movies, 1920 Crest View Drive in Hudson on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cancer support group to meet

The Hudson Cancer Support Group for survivors and caregivers will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Crossing Point, corner of Third and Vine streets in Hudson. All are welcome.

Parents night out

On Dec. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m., the Y is offering child care for kids age 1-10. A pizza dinner will be served. Games, crafts, and the bounce house are available. Cost is $15 per child for members, $20 per child for non-members.
