Sophia (Boumeester) Perron, 23

Sophia Kathleen (Boumeester) Perron, beloved wife, cherished daughter and loving granddaughter, age 23, of Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of Amery and Hudson, Wis., died unexpectedly on Dec. 13, 2009, at her home.
She was born the daughter of Marshall D. and Laurel G. (Nelson) Boumeester on Jan. 2, 1986, in St. Croix Falls, Wis. Sophia graduated from Amery High School in 2004 and from UW Stout in 2008 with a degree in vocational rehabilitation with an emphasis in criminal justice. Her goal was to become a police officer and she had recently completed a program in forensic criminology at Central Penn State University. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Sophia was the first CSO officer for the Metro Transit Police in Minneapolis. Most recently, she had been working as a drug and alcohol rehab counselor.
On Sept. 20, 2008, Sophia was united in marriage to Jacob Perron in Amery, Wis.; they had been inseparable since their freshman year of college. Together, they had been working on remodeling their home.
Sophia had been looking forward to learning to ride her newly purchased motorcycle. She was an avid fitness enthusiast, winning several weightlifting competitions. She was a talented artist with her painting winning awards and a college scholarship. Sophia will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Heaven has gained an angel.
She is survived by her husband, Jake Perron; mother and step-father, Laurie Nelson-Lundell and Judge Eric Lundell of Hudson; father and step-mother, Marshall and Karin Boumeester of Eau Claire; brother, Christian Boumeester of Hudson; step-siblings: Emily Lundell-Fett (Cory) of Minneapolis, Eric Lundell Jr. of New Richmond, Kjirsten Hagedorn of Eau Claire and Adam Hagedorn of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandparents, John and Katie Nelson of Amery and Glenn and Alice Boumeester of Baldwin; niece, Jordan Fett; parents-in-law, David and Sandra Perron of Hudson; siblings-in-law, Megan and Josh Perron; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Peace Lutheran Church, 2355 Clark Rd., Dresser, Wis. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Friday and from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, 715-386-3725. Memorials are preferred.
