The second annual free Christmas Day dinner will be held at United Methodist Church of Hudson on Dec. 25 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. More than 300 people were served at the first dinner last year and the church is hoping to have even more this time.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Spirit of Christmas Present-A Dickens Christmas.” The congregation is making preparations that include a full meal with all the holiday trimmings, live music and gifts of food donated by individuals, organizations and businesses. The church sewing group is also at work on fleece mittens, scarves and hats that will be given away at the dinner.
The event is being organized by Carol and Bob Benish and involves more than 100 volunteers including members of other churches who want to participate in this special event on Christmas Day. Donations for the dinner are being accepted at the church at 1401 Laurel Ave.
Transportation is available to those who need it and the dinner can be delivered to those unable to attend. Call the church at (715)386-3921, ext. 200, to make arrangements.
