David Allen Seidel, age 51, of Hudson, Wis., and formerly of Richfield, Minn., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
He was born the son of Robert G. and Shirley J. (Johnson) Seidel on July 11, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minn. Dave graduated from Richfield High School in 1976 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree. He worked for 3M as a mechanical engineer.
On April 19, 1980, Dave married the love of his life, Yvonne M. Carlson. They would be blessed with three children, Justin, Katie and Brian. He adored being a father and was so proud of them.
Dave was an assistant varsity coach of the Hudson High School soccer team and was also active in the Hudson Soccer Association as a coach, referee and he served on the board. He was a talented woodworker, a true craftsman. He had a passion for all types of music and always cheered for the MN Twins.
Dave will remain in the hearts of his wife of 29 years, Yvonne; children, Justin David (Kimberly) Seidel, Katie A. Seidel, and Brian C. Seidel (Rose Berglund); grandchildren, Connor M. and Maari F. Seidel; mother, Shirley Seidel; siblings, Sue (“Tiger”) McLuen, Wayne (Karen) Seidel, Mark (Katja) Seidel; mother-in-law, Elaine Carlson; brother-in-law, Brent Carlson; extended family and many friends.
A funeral service for Dave will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 14107 Hudson Rd. S., Afton, Minn. Visitation will be for two hours prior, from 5-7 p.m. Private interment in Willow River Cemetery, Hudson. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
