JoAnn Elizabeth Neubarth, age 68, of Hudson, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday morning, Dec. 29, 2009.

She was born the daughter of Clinton and Florence (Tilton) Lewis on Nov. 5, 1941, in Baldwin. JoAnn graduated from Hammond High School. In 1963, she married George Neubarth and they were blessed with a daughter, Julie. JoAnn worked in the business office of the Wisconsin Telephone Company for 25 years, and in 1992 went to work for the City of Hudson where she was presently the receptionist/clerk-typist for the third floor offices at City Hall.

She was active in her church and enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. JoAnn cherished time at her cabin and fishing with her grandkids on Lake Wapogasset in Amery, Wis. She was always busy caring for her two homes as well as her many barn cats.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Alan Fenner of North Hudson; grandchildren, Nathan and Annie Fenner; sister, Betty (Richard) Evjen of Hudson; siblings-in-law, Delores Lewis, George Peterson and Else Lewis; nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Dennis Miller in September; her parents, Clinton Lewis and Florence Vier; and siblings, Bonnie Loida, Lorraine Loney, Gaylord Lewis, Joyce Peterson, Ronald Lewis and James Lewis.

A funeral service for JoAnn will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Sixth St., Hudson. Interment to follow in the Hammond Cemetery. Visitation for one hour prior to the service at church and from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson.

In memory of JoAnn, memorials may be designated to the church or the Humane Society.
