Comedian headlines EDC awards banquet
C. Willi Myles, called “America’s everyday comedian,” will provide the entertainment at St. Croix Economic Development Corporation’s Business of the Year banquet Thursday, Feb. 25 at the University Center Ballroom at UW-River Falls.
C. Willi Myles, called “America’s everyday comedian,” will provide the entertainment at St. Croix Economic Development Corporation’s Business of the Year banquet Thursday, Feb. 25 at the University Center Ballroom at UW-River Falls.
Myles takes everyday life challenges and applies humor to them. Banquet attendees are assured of laughs and a unique look at Midwest living from Myles, who was born and raised in Mobile, Ala. His non-offensive stories and jokes have been heard by audiences in 49 states and three countries. Myles has performed for The Temptations, O’Jays, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Cosby, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Dennis Miller, Toby Keith, and Bonnie Raitt. He has been featured locally and nationally on the Fox Network, Comedy Central and Showtime at the Apollo.
In mid-January, St. Croix EDC named NCCM Company, Baldwin Telecom, Inc., and SMC Ltd. as the 2009 Business of the Year winners in St. Croix County. Ken Heiser, a Hudson banker, has been named the inaugural recipient of St. Croix EDC’s Directors Award.
Events on Feb. 25 start at 5:30 p.m. with registration, networking and cash bar; 6:30 p.m. dinner; and 7:30 p.m. awards program. Comedian Myles will entertain guests after the awards presentation.
