Geraldine H. Sippel, 79, of Menomonie, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Dunn County Health Care Center.
She was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Gunder and Ella (Geer) Gunderson.
Geraldine was married in Eau Claire on Feb. 10, 1949, to Walter Sippel who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim "Chief" Gunderson.
Geraldine liked to play the accordion in the "Three Little Deers" group at the nursing home. She was a Den mother for the Elk Mound area Cub Scouts. She also truly enjoyed playing piano at family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Sippel of Elk Mound; her son, Jon (Sharon) Sippel of Hudson; three grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Filkins of River Falls, Mike (Christine) Sippel of Hammond and Matt (Emily) Sippel of Baldwin; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashley, Alexa, Gavin and Zach; three brothers, DeWayne "Duke" Gunderson of Eau Claire, Ken "Ole" (Sharon) Gunderson of Spooner, and Tom "Ike" Gunderson of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; her special pug, Ellie.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Jarocki-Skinner Funeral Home. Visitation took place 1 hour prior to the service.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Jarocki-Skinner Funeral Home of Rice Lake.
