Richard Holly Anderson, age 68, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his winter residence.
Rich was born on Sept. 2, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Raymond and Lorraine Anderson. On May 1, 1965, he married Rosemarie Haendel.
Rich served in the various areas of law enforcement and victim services for over 40 years. Rich will be fondly remembered by many for loving to spend time with his family, being a people person, and an outdoor enthusiast. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved spending time at “the cabin” and wintering in Arizona.
Rich is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rose, along with their three children: Lisa (Justin) Carlson of Yuma, Ariz., Gregory Anderson of Hudson, and Michael (Heidi) Anderson of Port Washington, Wis.; his sister, Patricia Anderson of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and brother-in-law, Guenther Haendel of Port Washington.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial gathering for Richard from 3-5 p.m., with a brief service at 5 p.m., on Sunday, March 21, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, 715-386-3725. The celebration of his life will continue after the service at the Hudson Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Diabetes Foundation.
