The Hudson High School production of “You Can’t Take it With You” opens on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m.
The school’s spring play by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufmann is the Pulitzer Prize-winning story of the charmingly offbeat Sycamore family and the seriously uptight Kirbys. Full of some of the most memorable comic stage characters, it begs the question can love really conquer all—even crazy in-laws?
The cast includes: Grandpa played by Travis Schultz; Penny played by Tess Babbitt; Paul played by Sam Johnson; Alice played by Meghan Olson; Tony played by Andy Leines; Essie played by Erin Bloomer; Ed played by Carter Johnson; DePinna played by Nicholas VandenHouvel; Boris Kolenkhov played by Max Malanaphy; Rheba played by Maren Cullen; Donald played by Joe Neiderhauser; Mr. Kirby played by Lucas McGee; Mrs. Kirby played by Zoe Vnak; Grand Duchess played by Lauren Palm; Gay Wellington played by Melanie Featherstone; Henderson played by Bjorn Saterbak; G-Men played by Gabriel Dwyer, Zach Helmen, Owen Metzger and Tucker Millett.
The stage managers are Courtney Coulter and Ginna Roe.
The student cast is being directed by HHS choral director Kari Heisler. Performances are April 8, 9, 10 at 7 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday, April 11 at 2 p.m.
