Senior Abby Singerhouse gave up just one hit on the mound and helped her own cause by driving in a pair of runs as the Raider softball team defeated Como Park, Minn., 7-0 Thursday in Como Park.

Singerhouse took a perfect game into the seventh inning before issuing a leadoff walk. Her bid for a no-hitter was broken two batters later after getting the first out of the inning on a fly ball to right. She struck out five and walked just one to record the shutout.

Hudson had just five hits of their own but they were timely, as the Raiders reached base on walks ten times in the game.

Singerhouse drove in a pair of runs with a single in the third and Courtney Whaley had a two-run single in the fifth when the Raiders scored their final three runs of the game. Erin Anderson drove in three runs with a hit and bases-loaded walk while Devan DuCharme and Alli Kocik each had a hit.

Kindra Witthus walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored three runs.

The Raiders open Big Rivers Conference play with a doubleheader at Menomonie Thursday, April 22 and will compete in a tournament in Princeton, Minn. Saturday, April 24. They return home to host River Falls on Thursday, April 29, with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
