Softball state championship games are Saturday
Wisconsin SportsChippewa Falls loses 4-0 to Kaukauna in the Division 1 semifinals. Rice Lake makes it to the semifinals in Division 2.
Mequon Homestead will play Kaukauna Saturday night for the Division 1 state softball title.
Both teams advanced by winning their semifinal games Thursday night in Madison.
Rachel Behnken tossed a five-hitter as Homestead eliminated Watertown 3-1.
Lauren Danner hit a two-run double and tossed a three-hitter to give Kaukauna a 4-0 victory over Chippewa Falls.
The Division 1 quarterfinals were played earlier Thursday day. Homestead blanked Wilmot 1-0. Watertown topped South Milwaukee 7-5. Kaukauna shut out Appleton East 2-0, and Chippewa Falls routed Verona 7-0.
The Division 4 semifinals are up first on Friday.
Tigerton opens against Potosi at 9 o’clock, and then Hurley faces Racine Lutheran.
The Division 3 semis will be played Friday afternoon. Unbeaten Lancaster plays Peshtigo, and Arcadia takes on Winnebago Lutheran.
The Division 2 semifinals are Friday night. Defending champion Luxemburg-Casco plays Fort Atkinson, and Rice Lake goes against Union Grove.
Title games in all four divisions are set for tomorrow.
