Booster Days set July 1-4 in Hudson

Friday, July 2
The event gets into full swing Friday, July 2, with three food stands and a beer garden serving up food and drink in Lakefront Park beginning at 4 p.m. Live entertainment that night begins at 6 p.m. with Fire on the Moon, followed by Boogie Wonderland, playing from 9 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Bingo will be called 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday.
Saturday, July 3
The Booster Days Parade on Second Street begins at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3, featuring Grand Marshal Tom Boron. Food and beer sales resume at noon Saturday, as does bingo at 1 p.m. A family favorite, The Teddy Bear Band, takes the stage immediately following the parade. The group is playing Booster Days for the fifth consecutive year, bringing a blend of family entertainment, children's music and showmanship.
The Dalet Group performs next, followed by The Resistors, who will play until 4:15 p.m. Booster Days newcomer, Young Lust, plays Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by perennial favorite, Uncle Chunk.
Fireworks over the St. Croix River commence at dusk on Saturday, July 3.
Sunday, July 4
Sunday, July 4, boasts some new attractions -- the Booster Days Car Show is from 2 to 6 p.m. in the bathhouse parking lot. Free dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 cars. Food and drink tickets go to each car entry, and trophies will be awarded. For more information, call Jerry McKenzie, (715) 549-6898.
Another new event is a bean bag tournament next to the band shell the goes from noon to 4 p.m. The tournament entry fee of $15 per person includes two free beverages. Anyone interested in competing may contact Pete at (715) 386-8386.
A kids’ fishing contest in Lakefront Park goes from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the kids’ tractor pull from 2 to 4 p.m. The 10th annual hotdog eating contest begins at 4 p.m.
The three food booths and beer garden will serve from noon-12:30 a.m. and bingo is called from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday’s live entertainment features acts from the Hudson area: The Dalet Group performs at noon, followed by the Joe Paris Band from 1 to 3:20 p.m. The Woodshop Band plays from 4 to 7:20 p.m., followed by Sunday headlining band, Saving Starz, playing from 8 to 11:20 p.m.
