St Croix EMS and Rescue in conjunction with the Northern Star Council of the Boy Scouts of America recently established an Emergency Medical Services Explorer Post in Hudson.

Among those involved in the program are Jeffrey Otto, Michelle Murphy, Avery Stenso Velo, Mackenzie Reynolds, Whitney Daniels and Tony Pasquale.

The post offers high school age students in the Hudson area the opportunity to learn more about the various aspects and duties of EMS workers in an active environment.

Students will participate in trainings, ride along with ambulance crews and be exposed to situations involving patient care, rescue, dive, high angle rescue and swat medic duties.

The Explorer program is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 20. The Hudson Police and Fire Departments also offer Explorer opportunities.
