The Dalet Group performs next, followed by The Resistors, who will play until 4:15 p.m. Booster Days newcomer Young Lust plays Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by perennial favorite, Uncle Chunk.
Fireworks over the St. Croix River commence at dusk on Saturday, July 3.
Sunday, July 4
Sunday, July 4, boasts some new attractions — the Booster Days Car Show is from 2 to 6 p.m. in the bathhouse parking lot. Free dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 cars. Food and drink tickets go to each car entry, and trophies will be awarded. For more information, call Jerry McKenzie, (715) 549-6898.
Another new event is a bean bag tournament next to the band shell that goes from noon to 4 p.m. The tournament entry fee of $15 per person includes two free beverages. Anyone interested in competing may contact Pete at (715) 386-8386.
A kids’ fishing contest in Lakefront Park goes from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the kids’ tractor pull from 2 to 4 p.m. The 10th annual hotdog eating contest begins at 4 p.m.
The three food booths and beer garden will serve from noon-12:30 a.m. and bingo is called from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Boosters are featuring “fine-tasting” beers, including some of the top regional flavors from Leinenkugel. Another food booth, operated by the Knights of Columbus, features pork, beef and kabobs.
