More than 150 “wounded warriors” from wars in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan are on a seven-day, 430-mile ride from Edina, Minn., to the American Legion National Conference in Milwaukee on Sunday.
They had dinner at Mama Maria’s in North Hudson and spent the night at the Fairfield Inn.
In the additional photo, Army Sgts. Nate Hunt, left, and Gavin Sibayan pedal hand cycles on the Ride 2 Recovery. Hunt, a Texan, lost both of his legs while on a routine route clearance mission in Baghdad in May 2008. He’s married and has two daughters, ages 9 and 13.
Sibayan, who lives in Denver, suffered head and hip injuries in three different IED attacks in Iraq in September 2007.
