Plaza 94 Farmer’s Market features home food preservation expert

Thursday, Sept. 9, a canning expert will be at Hudson Plaza 94 Farmer’s Market. Preserving food at home can be a gratifying activity for individuals young and old but doing it safely is critical.

“Family recipes and even many recipes found in magazines are not necessarily safe. We are all concerned about eggs right now but we should also be concerned about the foods we preserve at home to make sure they preserved safely,” says Joan Sprain, Family Living Agent with St. Croix County UW-Extension.

To learn more about safe home canning and other food preservation methods stop by Thursday Sept. 9, at the Hudson Farmer’s Market at Plaza 94 from 7:30 a.m.-noon and talk with a St. Croix County Master Food Preserver.
