Two nights after dropping a 2-1 decision in overtime at Eau Claire North, the Raider boys’ soccer team suffered a 7-0 home loss to Chippewa Falls last week.
Hudson, now 2-3 in the Big Rivers Conference, 2-5 overall, will travel to conference-leader Eau Claire Memorial Thursday, Sept. 16 and play a nonconference game at Stillwater Monday, Sept. 20, before visiting Menomonie Tuesday, Sept. 21, and returning home to host River Falls Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.
Last Tuesday at Eau Claire North, senior captains Chris Berglund and J.C. Tantalean teamed up to give Hudson an early 1-0 lead over the Huskies. Berglund found the back of the net seven minutes into the game with Tantalean assisting.
Eau Claire North tied the score three minutes later and the game remained tied at 1-1 through 80 minutes of regulation. The Huskies scored off a free kick four minutes into overtime to earn the 2-1 victory and improve to 3-1-1 in conference play.
Thursday at home against Chippewa Falls, the Cardinals scored a pair of goals two minutes apart in the first ten minutes of the game to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. They added five more goals in the second half, including one on a penalty kick, to make the final 7-0 and improve to 3-1 in the BRC.
