The town of Hudson Board approved a change in the day of trash pickup for some town residents. The action came at the Sept. 7 board meeting.

Waste Management proposed changing the pickup days along both sides of a stretch of Hwy. 12 near West Badlands Road from Wednesday to Friday. According to Waste Management, the move would allow them to take a truck off the road, saving the town money in road repairs, and saving Waste Management in overhead, which will help keep costs down for consumers.

The board passed a motion approving the change. Any residents that will be affected will receive a notice from Waste Management in the mail in the next few weeks.

TRIP funds

The Hudson Town board has authorized the town treasurer to use TRIP (Tax Refund Interrupt Program) funding to pay for outstanding payments from citizens. TRIP will be used to pay for fees that are owed to the town from specific citizens, by taking the funds directly out of a citizen’s tax return.
