Man, trying to catch dog, hit by car on I-94

A Minnesota man, who apparently walked onto I-94 trying to catch his dog, was in critical condition at Regions Hospital Sunday morning after being hit by a car late Saturday night.

A Minnesota man, who apparently walked onto I-94 trying to catch his dog, was in critical condition at Regions Hospital Sunday morning after being hit by a car late Saturday night.

Joshua Davis, 33, St. Michael, Minn., was struck by an eastbound car driven by Samantha Russell, 18, Lindstrom, Minn. The accident, which occurred in the eastbound lane at Exit 1 in Hudson, was reported at 11:29 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Davis was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he remained in critical condition as of early Sunday morning. His injuries are considered life-threatening.

Russell and her passenger -- Brandon A. Mueller, 20, also of Lindstrom -- were not injured.

The left two of three lanes of I-94 eastbound at the crash scene were closed for about two hours.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
