Citizens State Bank announces Tom Van Pelt as new president and CEO
The Board of Directors of Citizens State Bank announced that Tom Van Pelt has been elected to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective Jan. 1.
The Board of Directors of Citizens State Bank announced that Tom Van Pelt has been elected to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer effective Jan. 1.
Gene Haberman, the current president and CEO, is retiring but will continue to serve in a part-time role as vice chairman of the Board of Directors. Haberman’s duties will include serving on various bank committees, aiding in the transfer of responsibilities and representing the community on behalf of the bank. He has held the position of president and CEO since joining the bank in June of 2003. Haberman has over 40 years of experience in community banking. Prior to joining Citizens, he was president of the Preferred Bank in Big Lake, Minn.
Van Pelt has been with the bank since April of 2008 and is currently serving as senior vice president of Business Banking. He has extensive experience in commercial lending and community banking. He has served in the capacity of President of the Anchor Bank in Farmington, Minn., prior to joining Citizens.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Tom’s caliber to take the reins at this time,” Haberman said. “He has all the experience and skills that we could ask for in a leader. I look forward to working with Tom and his team to serve the banking needs of all of our markets in Western Wisconsin.”
For over 100 years, Citizens State Bank has served residents and businesses throughout western Wisconsin. The bank, with $150 million in assets, is headquartered in Hudson and has five additional offices to serve its customers — Elmwood, Menomonie (2 offices), Roberts and Woodville.
