Amber Saathoff was named to the All-Big Rivers Conference Volleyball Team for the second straight year while Stephanie Little, Hannah Wirth and Katrina Zenz were all honored for the first time, giving Hudson four players on the 23-player team voted on by conference coaches and released last week.

Saathoff, a 5-foot, 8-inch senior setter and right side hitter, was named to the seven-player All-BRC First Team after earning second team honors in 2009.

Little, a 6-0 junior middle hitter, was one of seven players named to this year’s second team while Wirth, a 5-4 defensive specialist, and Zenz, a 6-0 middle hitter, both received honorable mention.

“All four players are very deserving of the honors they received,” Raider volleyball coach Dennis Saathoff said. “They are strong players in their positions and were consistent players throughout the conference season. There were a lot of good players in each position in the conference this year, so to be recognized is a great honor for these girls.”

Joining Amber Saathoff on the all-conference first team were Val Hayes and Kendra Bowe of Chippewa Falls, Emily Stage of Eau Claire Memorial, Alicia Olson and Abbie Richardson of Eau Claire North, and Jenna Orr of Rice Lake.

Chippewa Falls had the most players honored with five All-BRC picks while Hudson, Eau Claire North and Eau Claire Memorial had four each.
