Claire Terese DeWindt-Brissette, 83, 700 Marden Ave., Waupaca, Wis., died Nov. 22, 2010, at home unexpectedly.
She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Hudson, Wis., to the late Dr. John Casanova and Verna LeClair. Claire married the late Donald H. DeWindt in Hudson Sept. 6, 1952. On Sept. 17, 1994, she married Ed Brissette.
She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Oconto. Claire enjoyed writing, occasionally, for the Oconto County Times-Herald paper and was a full-time homemaker. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her retirement years with her loving husband, Ed.
Mrs. DeWindt-Brissette is survived by her husband, Ed; six sons: Peter (Connie), Suamico; Paul (Pamela), Oconto; John (Kim), Shiocton; Bill (Kereen), Oconto; Tom (Vicki), Oconto; Jim, Little Suamico; four daughters: Kathy Frease, Oconto; Mary (Dennis) Pillsbury, Oconto; Sharon (Jay) Letourneau, Green Bay; Jean (Butch) Kostreva, Little Suamico; three brothers: Dr. Jim (Jean) Casanova, Wausau; Bob (Mary Ellen) Casanova, Waukesha; Bill (Susan) Casanova, Bradenton, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Leanore Casanova; a brother, Jack Casanova; and a sister, Betty Casanova.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Deacon Walter Kaszynski officiating.
