Registration for the Hudson Booster Girls’ Recreational Program, originally set for Wednesday, March 9, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 15, at the Hudson Middle School cafeteria from 6-8 p.m.

The Hudson Boosters offer fastpitch softball for the girls. With over 350 girls participating in the program, this is one of premier fastpitch softball programs in Western Wisconsin and the Twin City Metro area.

The programs are for girls pre-kindergarteners (5-year-olds) to 18. Both recreational (in-house) and competitive (traveling) softball teams are a part of the Booster Program.

The Booster Girls’ Recreational Program is geared more toward players who have a desire to play softball, but don’t want to play it competitively or travel outside of Hudson. Girls from 5-18 can participate in the Girls’ Recreational Program.

Also available are Girls’ Recreational Teams for players who want to play in a few weekend tournaments but still just want to play recreational games during the week. There are no tryouts for the tournament teams.

With the addition of a new third field up at North Hudson Elementary, all Girls’ Recreational Program games for machine pitch (7-year-olds) through the Major League program (18-year-olds) will be played at that one location. This should allow many families with multiple girls playing an easier time to get to their daughters’ games. All 5- and 6-year-old T-ball games will be played at the cinder lot.

The Booster Competitive Program is geared toward the players who want to play softball at a more competitive level and are willing to travel outside Hudson to play against the strongest community teams in the area. The Boosters sponsor teams at 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U on an annual basis. Girls are required to try out for the Competitive Program teams.

On Saturday, July 30, the Hudson Boosters will sponsor the fifth annual Season Ending Fastpitch Extravaganza Tournament. Last year thirty 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U teams participated in this tournament, making it one of the area’s largest and best received tournaments.
