Troy man sentenced on porn charge

A town of Troy man convicted of possession of child pornography for a second time has been ordered to prison.

Lawrence Wayne Mattison was sentenced to three years in prison and 10 years’ extended supervision Monday. Judge Eric J. Lundell also ordered him to successfully complete a sex offender treatment program.

Mattison pleaded no contest to one count of possession of child pornography Oct. 27 in a plea agreement in which 28 other child porn charges were dismissed.

Mattison’s sentence was to run concurrent with a previous conviction in 2006 for possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to nine months in jail and probation. The probation was revoked on April 28, 2009, and he was sentenced to one and one half years in prison and two years’ extended supervision.

The criminal complaint said on Nov. 23, 2009, probation agents searched Mattison’s residence at the Fox Trailer Court and discovered child pornography.
