Women are invited to gather on the dike road bridge in Hudson at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, as part of a Join Me on the Bridge campaign to kick off the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day.
After a group photo is taken, the women will go to First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine St., to watch the documentary “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” a film about the power of ordinary citizens to change the world.
Join Me on the Bridge events are planned in 24 countries, on five continents and in nine different time zones.
The sponsoring organization, Women for Women International, assists women in war-torn regions by providing job-skill training and giving them the tools they need to regain their confidence and provide for their families.
Donations for Women for Women International will be accepted, but the events in Hudson are free. Contact Nancy Gin at nancy_gin@yahoo.com for more information or register to participate.
