Town of St. Joseph holds candidate forum

Candidates for St. Joseph Town Board positions answered questions from the public in a forum held Monday night at the town hall.

Candidates for St. Joseph Town Board positions answered questions from the public in a forum held Monday night, March 14 at the town hall.

About 60 town residents were on hand for the session sponsored by the Rolling Hills 4-H Club.

Kevin Adkins and Dan Gavin are seeking the town board chair position currently held by Theresa Johnson, who decided not to run for another term.

Adkins is currently the first supervisor on the town board. In the past, Gavin has served eight years as a supervisor.

Joan Gerhan and Mary Stanley are vying to replace Marie Schmit as clerk/treasurer for the town. Schmit chose not to seek re-election.

Fred Meyer is challenging incumbent Jim Traeger for his second supervisor position on the board.

Rick Colbeth is unopposed for a fourth term as fourth supervisor on the town board.
