St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department drug disposal box ready for use

This drug and medication disposal unit is located just inside the lobby of the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department, 1101 Carmichael Road. The unit was designed and built by Hudson High School technical education students.

This drug and medication disposal unit is located just inside the lobby of the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department, 1101 Carmichael Road. The unit was designed and built by Hudson High School technical education students.

In addition to prescription drugs and medicines, the program allows for the safe disposal of drugs in addition to over-the-counter medications, vitamins, liquids, inhalers, sprays and most pet medications.

Items that cannot be accepted at the drop-off sites include anything sharp like needles, oxygen tanks, nebulizers or radioactive cancer medications.

There will be a major drug and medication collection from all county sites on April 30 and that the cost of disposal from that collection will be picked up by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The cost to dispose of the collection locally is $2 per pound.
