The Hudson Boosters youth sports organization held its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon at Prospect Park in the city.
Hundreds of children, accompanied by parents and grandparents, showed up to scramble for the candy scattered around the park pavilion.
Each child also received a ticket good for either a chocolate bunny or a stuffed toy.
Eight bicycles were given away through a drawing.
This year marked 13 years that members of Christ Center Assembly of God Church have held their Easter Egg Hunt. An estimated 1,800 children, from toddlers to pre-teens, had no trouble finding all kinds of treats at Saturday’s event at the Hudson Middle School.
With donations and contributions from more than 30 area businesses, organizations and individuals, some 60 church volunteers put in hours preparing for the event. The program not only included the hunt but also entertainment for those who waited their turn and activities and games in the school cafeteria.
