Hudson baseball, softball to open playoffs at home

The Raider baseball and softball teams will both open WIAA regional tournament play at Grandview Park on Tuesday, May 31. The Raider baseball team will host Merrill at 4 p.m. while the softball team will face River Falls at 5 p.m. in regional semifinal games.

The Raider baseball and softball teams will both open WIAA regional tournament play at Grandview Park on Tuesday, May 31.

The Raider baseball team will host Merrill at 4 p.m. while the softball team will face River Falls at 5 p.m. in regional semifinal games.

Hudson received the No. 6 seed in the 12-team baseball regional while the softball team earned the No. 2 seed in its 7-team regional.

A win over No. 11 Merrill will send the Raider baseball team to third-seeded Stevens Point Friday, June 3, for the regional final. The sectional semifinals and finals will be played Tuesday, June 7, in Wisconsin Rapids.

If the Raider softball team defeats River Falls, it will host the regional final Thursday, June 2, against either No. 3 Eau Claire North or No. 6 Eau Claire Memorial. The sectional semifinals will be held Tuesday, June 7, at the home of the highest remaining seed. Chippewa Falls is the No. 1 seed in the bracket. The sectional finals are scheduled for Friday, June 10, at Wausau East.
