Ron Dayne at Badger Golf Classic June 10

University of Wisconsin Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne will headline a group of former Badger football stars who will attend the 19th annual Northwest Badger Golf Classic at the Hudson Golf Club, 201 Carmichael Road, on Friday, June 10.

The public is invited to meet and greet many sports celebrities, including Dayne, who will be at the event ready and willing to sign autographs.

Also scheduled to attend are Jim Leonhard of the New York Jets; Gabe Carimi of the Chicago Bears; Joe Thomas of the Cleveland Browns; John Moffit of the Seattle Seahawks; Lance Kendricks of the St. Louis Rams and Scott Tolzien, 2011 Rose Bowl quarterback.

Other local sports celebrities will also be in attendance. Matt Lepay, the voice of Badger football and basketball, will be the emcee and host, and Paul Bunyan’s Axe will be available for photo opportunities.

The event includes the Golf “Shamble”, lunch and dinner, a silent auction, live auction, raffle and a video program that recaps the past season. A dinner only option is available and kids are welcome.

Lunch begins at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The dinner program is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

The golf “shamble” is an event that raises money for the UW Twin Cities Alumni Scholarship Fund and the Mendota Gridiron Club.
