Hudson hosts tour for travel group

The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau was host for a stop on the recent Circle Wisconsin tour. Circle Wisconsin is a statewide destination marketing organization promoting Wisconsin to the Group Travel Industry.

Circle Wisconsin represents Attractions, lodging facilities, restaurants, destination marketing organizations, in-bound receptive operators and other business which include among their primary objectives, the promotion of properties for use as group tour/travel destinations.

“As a Destination Marketing Organization for Circle Wisconsin, The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau was excited to be a part of their annual June FAM Tour, which was June 5-9,” said Hudson Chamber Tourism & Special Projects Assistant Mary Weller. The tour originated in Eau Claire and visited members in Chippewa Falls, Hudson, Ellsworth, Onalaska, La Crosse, Sparta, Hillsboro and Tomah.

The chamber created an itinerary to showcase Hudson and, along with other tourism-related members, hosted the tour to the 40 group tour operators representing 24 companies from 11 states. The tour stopped in Hudson Monday, June 6.

The Hudson tour started with a welcome by Mayor Alan Burchill at The Best Western/Hudson House Inn and included stops at Historic Downtown Hudson, The Phipps Inn Bed & Breakfast, The Octagon House, The Phipps Center for the Arts and concluded with a lunch cruise on the Grand Duchess sponsored by Afton-Hudson Cruise Lines.
