Artful Garden Tour is this weekend

The 13th annual Artful Garden Tour is this weekend, June 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Begining at the Octagon House, 1004 Third St. in Hudson, the tour consists of visits to six gardens filled with beautiful plantings and artists and musicians displaying and demonstrating their work in Hudson and River Falls.

Gardens on the tour are:

--Octagon House, 1004 Third St. Hudson.

--Jean and Wayne Haut garden, 803 Orange St., Hudson.

--Helen and Marion Shaw garden, 493 Country View Road, Hudson.

--Karen and Berne Jilek garden, 735 Aldro Road., Hudson.

--Char and Len Johnson garden, 385 Cedar Ct., Hudson.

--Anne and Jim Kerfoot garden, 327 Plainview Drive, River Falls.

The Artful Garden Tour began as a way to raise money to install hanging flower baskets in downtown Hudson and all profits go to the baskets. The tour is sponsored by the Hudson Women’s Club.

Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the Octagon House on the days of the tour. Tickets are good for both days. The official Artful Garden Tour Poster, “Roses of Summer” by Joyce Ells, will be for sale at the Octagon House, along with posters from past tours. All posters are $10.

The Octagon House Museum will also be open for walk-in tours on Saturday from noon to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The Museum Gift Shop is open during regular tour hours and has a nice selection of decorative items for the home and garden.
